Okay, so I had never heard of this Pollyanna thing until we moved to Philly. In the South, we called it Secret Santa. Where the hell did someone named Pollyanna come in?

Okay, I just did a little research. Apparently it is a Philly thing. See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secret_Santa Also, if you are doing the "white elephant" gift exchange, here it is called "Chinese Pollyanna"--which I find offensive.
