9.13.05

This was too weird.

I was at the Bohemian Beer Garden, a cool little outdoor BBQ/bar place here in my neighborhood in Queens.
I turned around and saw Ms. Strickland (my junior high/high school gym coach) sitting a few tables away. I leaned over to Micah and said, "I can't believe this. I think my high school gym coach is here."

I thought maybe it was just someone who looked like her, but I couldn't stop myself from making sure. I walked over to the table and said, "Meg?" It was her. Can you believe it?

Here are some reasons why this is weird:
1) This is a city of 8 million people.
2) She was in Queens, which isn't exactly a tourist attraction.
3) She was in my neighborhood, Astoria.
4) She was in the beer garden with about 400 other people.
5) She is from Alabama.
6) She is from NORTHSIDE High School in Northport, AL, and was my gym coach!!!!!

Too strange.
